CONAL GALLEN
FROM THE GATEWAY TO GLASGOW
Ireland’s Funniest Man in Ireland’s Funniest Show! That is the description given to Donegal’s legend of laughs, Conal Gallen.
Such is the popularity of Conal Gallen that every date he plays has been sold-out in advance
Conal brings his own full 2 hour comedy show to the Inishowen Gateway Hotel, Buncrana on Easter Saturday the 11th of April, his first show in Buncrana in 4 years! Over two hours of non-stop comedy ensures a brilliant night will be had by all. Conal’s main aim is to get as many jokes into the show as possible. “I try to not give the audience time to think before I start the next joke! Indeed, there are times when he is telling two or three jokes at the same time, a feat not easily done!
His 2nd last Album entitled “LIVE & FULL OF IT” on DVD and CD, went “Double Platinum, only one of two Irish Comedians to achieve this. It was recorded in The Royal Theatre, Castlebar. Featuring some of those wonderful side-splitting songs and the absolutely hilarious poem “Holiday In The Sun”, this was one of the biggest selling Albums of the year in Ireland.
His newest Album “LIVE & STILL FULL OF IT” is well on the way to surpassing this.
One of the major delights of attending a Conal Gallen Show, is the fact that not only does the audience not know what he is going to do next, neither does he! It is this spontaneity that makes Conal Gallen the world class entertainer that he is today.
He has been told that his show should be available on the Medical Card, as he cures more people than the Health Board.
Funny man Conal has been sweeping the nation with the self penned song,”Horse It Into Ya, Cynthia”, which has just broken records on BBC Radio Ulster as the most requested song they have ever had. "Horse It Into Ya, Cynthia" is one of the most requested song on local Radio stations in Ireland. Indeed, on Hugo Duncan's BBC Radio Show, it has been receiving in excess of 50 requests every day!
The song has now become a ring tone on tens of thousands of mobile phones across Ireland. Conal himself has been enjoying the success of the song.
He has recently sold out the 2,000 seater Waterfront Hall in Belfast, one of only 2 Irish Comedians to do this.
Due to the influx of younger people attending Conal Gallen’s concerts his record company, Little Round Records, have released a dance mix of “Horse it Into Ya Cynthia”.
Conal’s shows are littered with hilarious songs, such as the massive hit “Horse It Into Ya, Cynthia”, “I’ll Make Love To You In The Henhouse”, Daniel’ Put The Kettle On” and many more.
When asked what is the secret of his success, Conal replies, “I just stand up on stage and tell jokes and stories and people laugh. No two shows are the same!”. Have a look at Conal’s recent shows.
